Throughout each weekend, I take pictures of what’s going on here on the Baja. Enjoy.
Those people on the right are lined up to get a few chances at kicking a soccer ball into the orange container at left.
If the ball goes in, they win a desk lamp or something.
Only in Mexico.
One of the beauty parts [insert sarcasm] is the overall lack of understanding of personal space.
For example, this gigantic truck (see right) parked next to my Jeep Grand Cherokee (see left). The cars were, no kidding, about 8 inches apart. I have NO idea how the man got out of his car, as I could barely get into the passenger side of the car.
I would imagine he was very small. Like an elf.
Ah. Personal space.
After Home Depot it was time to head to WalMart.
You can see what tourists from all around come to see, from the overpass: Lands’ End.
(That’s the very tip of the Baja Peninsula.)
So, it was C’s first time in Walmart. We proceeded to walk the entire store and stumbled upon these gems in the “athletic equipment” section.
I believe the claim is, “Reaffirm your bust.”
Here’s a closeup.
I believe they’re gel pads for your up-top.
(No doubt surprisingly handy for our friends out there who plan to get their up-tops surgically enhanced.)
On the last Saturday in September it was this hot.
As we say down here, “Sometimes there just ain’t enough mineral veil.”
Yesterday the fam and I spent the day playing, “vacationers” at my sister’s pool. (Her house is being remodeled so she’s staying at a beach-side condo on the ocean.) We then decided to go eat at restaurant on the beach to continue with the “tourists” theme. On the way there, under the overpass, we saw vacas.
My sister especially liked the irony in this photo. The juxtaposition of the cow, in front of the car and the guy under the grafitti covered overpass.
I never really been but Id sure like to go
I guess Ill have to go now.”
(That James Taylor. Love him.)
You must come to Mexico to see cows mingling with common folk.
Expect the unexpected here in Los Cabos.
You will see beauty beyond anything you’ve ever seen, cows in the street and people who can’t understand personal space.
It’s enough to even perplex my Ferg.
