As someone who hasn’t shopped in the States for quite some time – I was floored by how empty the stores were.
Target? I swear there were 20 people there. Tops.
At the mall, the same girl greeted us when we talked in at Express, then she opened the dressing room and then rang us up. (Crazy.)
The downtown stores were dead.
There were so few people in the stores and restaurants. (And let’s just say I shopped a lot and ate even more.)
On what seemed like every corner, businesses were closed or boarded up.
The GROCERY STORE was even eerily quiet.
I will say that I was floored. And a bit wigged out.
I’m definitely a believer. A recession is in full-bloom.
