Ok, read the article here.
Basically, an ABC anchor overheard Mr. President call Kanye the “J” word, completely off-the-record, then of course — like ALL celebrities and those in the media — felt the need to twitter it ASAP.
Here’s the tweet:
“Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.” (Terry Moran)
I’ve got some comments.
1. The sky is blue. Fire is hot. And Kanye West is a jackass. We all know this.
2. I’m conflicted. I like having a president who’s semi-aware of what’s going on around him in the ‘ole popular culture. And, I like a president who can call them like he sees them.
3. Then again, I like a president who can hold his tongue. (Theoretically, he was holding his tongue, though. Since his comment was off-the-record. But when you’re the president, is what you say EVER off-the-record?)
4. Twitter is so annoying. That ABC fella is a tattle-tale. Shall I tweet that? And who in the world follows Terry Moran? Get a life.
Moreover (I just wanted to use that word) – I think this whole thing is silly. Kanye bullied Taylor because he’s a child. Taylor handled it well, ironically – since she actually is a child.
Let’s move on to more pressing topics – like I don’t know, health care reform and why grown men are still wearing skinny jeans.
