Let’s take a moment and reflect on what it’s like to be sick… when you’re a mommy.
Lesson here: There’s no time to be sick when you’re a Mommy. And when you have a job.
I believe that aside from my c-section with Lila-kins, I have never had a cold or been ill in Lila’s nearly 13 months of life. I just don’t get sick. That is, until now.
Friends, I don’t feel well. My throat hurts. My head is stuffy beyond belief and aches. My eyes are watering non-stop. I’m congested, which I don’t understand since my nose is constantly drip, drip, dripping and well, my body aches.
I would like to fast-forward to Friday. When I assume all of this will be over.
In the pre-Lila days, The Ferg and I would have stayed in bed all.day.long and rotated between sleeping and watching DVDs. And blackberry messaging Craig to bring us something.
It’s amaing how all that changes once you have a baby… There’s not a lot of time to get better and just BE when you have a 13-month-old baby teetering all over your house.
Let’s be honest, I’m not purposefully acting like a grown-up and trying to put my cold aside. Nope, for it was thrust upon me when I had that baby.
Truth? I would stick a tissue up my nose, crawl into bed and moan the day (and night) away if I could right now.
