Marcel Proust was a French novelist. James Lipton ends each episode of Inside the Actor’s Studio with some of Proust’s questions. (The Dave Chapelle episode was the best.)
So, today I thought I’d give my responses. And, if you have a blog (or not) I encourage you to give yours.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
To be worry-free, belly-full, laughing uncontrollably.
What is your greatest fear?

Action. Sometimes I don’t act upon my empathy.
Which living person do you most admire?
What is your greatest extravagance?
My diamond anniversary band.
What is your current state of mind?
What do you dislike most about your appearance?
Currently: this in-between-stage in my pregnancy.
What is the quality you most like in a man/woman?
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Him. That man I married. And words.
Who are your favorite writers?
I have so many… but Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree makes me cry every time I read it.
When and where were you happiest?
Our first dance at our wedding — I believe time stood still. Then, falling asleep with Lila on my chest in the hospital.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wouldn’t be fearful about some things…
Where would you like to live?
I’m fine for now, thank you.
What is your most marked characteristic?
I like to think I’m witty. Superficially, I like my hair.
Who are your heroes in real life?
I’ve got a soft-spot in my heart for the single moms out there.
How would you like to die?
I’d like to read a good book, finish it, turn off the light, snuggle up to Craig and have the lights go out for both of us. At the exact same moment. We will be 110 and 112 respectively.
What is your motto?
Now is only a season… and seasons change.
