The other day I was a titch busy and didn’t know what to write about… so I asked ya’ll to ask me some questions.
Here are my answers/responses:
Response: I know. I actually should have written, “Axe me a question.” That totally would have been funnier.
Indeed, I’ve heard of Florence and the Machine and have commented a couple of times on Florence’s awards shows dress choices. I will check her out more thoroughly, though – since I know you and trust your musical recommendations.
What am I listening to these days? When I can? I’m listening to the sound of silence. When that’s not possible it’s usually Lila saying, “Hm? Hm? Hm?” 85 times in a row or Vivienne’s crying.
(Sarah W has a blog. See here. Sarah – get back on the blogging train. There’s your gentle reprimand.)
Response: At this point in my life, I’m thrilled if I leave the house without my gnarly, old, beat-up red faded flip flops on my feet. It seems that every time I think I look good, I forget one thing: to do my hair, to change my shirt, to wear cute shoes…
In Cabo, I never leave my house without my sunglasses. Ever. (I was like this when I lived in Toledo, OH, too.) And, I’m a huge believer in buying sunglasses sans the little wire-nose-pad things because those ALWAYS get stuck in my hair. My look = hair piled on top of my head and sunglasses.
Also, sadly I don’t watch Dancing with the Stars. Just not enough room on the DVR. I mean, I had to add back in Real Houseswives of Orange County, and all.

Response. I love your blog. And I’m sorry you’re feeling the same way.
Here you are, dear friend.

(Vivi at 8 weeks, new camera):
I’ll try to find some better side-by-sides. 🙂
(Iris Took has a blog. See here. And her blog? It hilarious.)
Response. Awesome. Here’s a cute video of Vivienne from last night. Snoring while in the sling. You know, since you asked…
About butter/margarine. I’ve always tended toward butter because it’s more natural than margarine. (I find melted margarine to be frightening.) For years and years, margarine had trans fats and tons of not so great things in it – now I understand that there are more healthful alternatives on the market (for those of you who live in the States.) Still, the choice for mi familia y yo (and I) is unsalted butter.
I use butter for cooking/baking, too – and let’s just say that my chocolate chip cookies are ALWAYS flat as pancakes. (But C. tells me this is because I let the butter get to warm. But then I tell him, “Hey – we live in Mexico. There’s a fine line between ‘room temperature’ and ‘melted.’ I can’t help it if when I put the butter on the counter it melts in a hot (pun intended) second.)
