So Monday night we headed to the girls’ school for their Dia de los Muertos celebration. (This is one of my favorite holidays for so many reasons. But most importantly, I love the idea of celebrating the lives of people who have passed. Annually. Tradition. Family.)
The individual celebrated and learned about this year at their escuela was painter, Frida Kahlo.
Since they celebrated, Frida, they had to dress like her. (I’m hoping next year is Selena. I will rock that.)
Here’s our pulled-together-in-15-minutes outfits.
I can’t even.
These eyebrows are killing me.
Lila took her role very seriously. (As she always does.)
My little Frida.
So at their school, an altar was made and the necessary objects were to be placed by the students.
Here’s Vivi placing her object. She looks so teeny.
And here’s Lila. She had to say, “Se caso Diego Rivera.” (She married Diego Rivera.)
And, THESE are my favorites.
Vivi’s face. Amazing.
This is my favorite.
