Today is a fun day.
It’s NEW BLOG DAY! Please, come in. Look around. Explore. If something doesn’t work… email me and let me know. (Click that little pretzels in the upper-right hand part of the page to contact me.) This was a GIGANTIC project and it was so gracefully done by the incredible Thauna at Bellano Web Studio. Ya’ll, we had to migrate more than 5,300 posts and 20,000 images. Seriously. I still haven’t organized everything, so if you need something – use the “search” button in the top navigation.
I am SO EXCITED about this day. I’m in LOVE with my new logo and brand colors by Sarah Wilson Design. She’s amazing.
I started Two Pretzels over at Blogger 12 years, 6 months and 8 days ago. (WHAAAT?)
Here’s the first blog post I ever wrote.
Earth shattering, no?
I was 27 years old, living in Ohio. I’d been married for a little over 3 years. We had an English bulldog, Nattie.
This was me.
I was a baby.
A few months after I started the blog I found myself in Cabo. After a much-enjoyed vacation, Craig and I decided to join my sister, niece and nephew and my brother… and move there. I had a job. Craig had a job.
“Let’s keep our house in Ohio and let’s do this just for a year.”
I started a blog, Dos Pretzels, that followed the journey the frustrations, the ups and down… the whole thing. I wrote it, alongside this blog, for about a year.
…and then we had a baby.
…and then another baby.
…and my Mom died.
And life, well, life has been beautiful and amazing and a struggle and incredible and… full.
As I wrote this post, I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic. This blog, dear friends, this blog is my adult life.
It’s my legacy.
I can’t wait to write more.
It’s been a goal of mine for at least five years to migrate my blog from Blogger to WordPress (blogger talk) and now, it’s finally done. Wah-who! (Again, thank you Thauna.)
The blog needed to grow up a bit…
While you can now find my blog at kyleebroughton.com, don’t worry – twopretzels.com still works. And it always will. After living behind the pretzels, I thought I’d go ahead and be me now.
So, here you have it.
My goal, dear friends is to make this space better than ever: book reviews, shopping suggestions, LIFE stuff, encouragement, motivation and love. So much love. I have missed this writing space, and I’ve found that I need it. It’s who I am.
I need to write.
When I started this blog, my goal was to make people smile. And maybe laugh. And feel like they could relate.
Today, 12 years later, that goal remains.
So, thank you for walking with me…
…thank you for telling others about this space.
T h a n k y o u for sharing life with me.
I couldn’t be more thankful.
Thank you, thank you.
