I bought a new planner for 2019. It breaks down goals into weekly goals, then monthly.
I’m pretty excited about it.
The 2019 planner purchase is a testament to my optimism and passion for school/office supplies.
It’s also a testament to the power in new beginnings.
There is power in Monday, ya’ll.
I read this article today, “Forget New Year’s health goals, try ‘Monday resolutions’ instead.” And, I nodded my way through it, because if there’s one thing I believe it’s this:
Mondays are gifts.
Even if I hate mornings, I believe it.
Mondays are invitations to do better.
Mondays test us.
They provoke us.
But when we make friends with Mondays, they serve us well.
Mondays show us that we are productive.
That we are strong.
That we can do hard things (because we’re worth it.)
That we can give ourselves grace, start over and do.the.thing.
There’s obviously a huge push at the end of each year and at the dawn of a new one to create resolutions. But the truth of the matter is that the gyms are empty by February and because we were racing toward overwhelming goals, we lose steam. And… well, there we are.
Just as we were.
This year I’m going to keep on making small changes and I’m going to embrace the 52 Mondays that I’m gifted as new beginnings.
We can work with 52 new beginnings, right?
52 opportunities to start over.
52 opportunities to begin again.
52 opportunities to be the change.
Life is an imperfect journey.
Let’s do the best we can.
[I’m a huge believer in accountability. When we’re held accountable to another human being, we perform. We follow through. We achieve our goals. If you’re interested in joining a group for all women who crave accountability, join my two dear friends and I. We’re facilitating a 3-week group on facebook that’s free, no strings attached… for any woman who needs a space to show up EVERYDAY for herself and say, “I did the thing I needed to do.” Together, it’s true… we rise. Here’s the group. Let me know if you have any questions.)
