Wee! I’m so excited to write this. Shall we get started with the 2020 Golden Globe Red Carpet Fashion recap?
I couldn’t include all of the gowns but here are some high and low-lights.
So, at first I was thinking… uh-oh… this might be… boring. Because Giuliana looks like she’s going to eat dinner with her parents.

Boring.
Then I see Margot Robbie in what I first thought was white slacks.
We can only improve from here, right?

Tiffany Haddish is wearing an aggressive pink. And I’m seriously thinking, “Ok, I should just go fold the towels in the dryer.”

Then I see Zoe Kravitz wearing a delight and I’m like, “Yasss… the show has started!”
I *adore* this. I’d wear it in a heartbeat.
That silhouette! That side bow! She’s perfect.

I also really loved Bell Powley! The sleeves, the look. It’s precious. But not too precious.

I was so pleased to see Amy Poehler looking so much better than she normally looks at these silly shoes. The kelp-green is quite becoming on her.
I’ll let that buckle have a hall pass.

Also wearing an interesting version of green was Charlize Theron. This Christian Dior Haute Couture is not doing it for me.
The choker (You know how I feel about chokers. They’re unnecessary.) + the random one-arm cape thing + the bustier as outerwear and the tidy belt? It’s just too much.
*Note: she is lovely, the gown is not.

Mondays are annoying. Chocolate is delicious. And obviously Nicole Kidman looked amazing. Duh.
(Do you think she was EVER called “Nikki” as a child? She seems like she was always an elegant Nicole.)

These two. I heart them.

So, there was a heapin’ helpin’ of black gowns.
There always is. I mean, it’s fine. I wasn’t blown away. But ok. As seen below.

Wearing black and looking fantastic, though, per always, Kerry Washington.
I mean, can you wear this to the office? Um… you “might” consider adding a shirt, unless it’s casual Friday. It really depends on your office.
For the Golden Globes, though? Totally acceptable.

So, I loved Jason Bateman’s wife, Amanda Anka’s dress.
I just think this is perfect. Perhaps for the beach. But I love her whole natural look.

I know we’re all supposed to faint over Jennifer Aniston, and her gown was lovely. But I’m still breathing.
In lieu of a clutch she’s putting her phone, lipstick and snacks in her Christian Dior Haute Couture ruffle. Clever.

Also wearing ruffles and the understated lamé fabric, Lucy Boynton.
You know, when you’ve got a theme, you need to commit to it.
She committed and I commend her for that. This gown is Louis Vuitton.
I don’t love it.

Reese Witherspoon looked fantastic. I love watching her morph more and more into a powerful and kind businesswoman. I love a woman who loves Dolly Parton as much as I do.
I just wish her hair was bigger.

So, you know I love a pattern, right? To confirm, I still do.
Kaitlyn Dever looks incredible. The sleeves, the dress? YASSSS.
I would wear this. In a hot second. Or a warm one.

Then there’s Taylor Swift’s tie-dyed sunflowers.
Nope.
This is not ok.
I would never wear this. And quite frankly, she should have opted out of it, too.

Zoey Deutch wore the amazing church-choir sleeves and I love ’em. This is so pretty. For some reason, this deep V isn’t working really well for me. Meh. She also looks like she’s waering the Titanic Jewel of the Ocean.
Ick.

This is an awful picture of Renee Zelwegger, but she looked AMAZING. Google it.

Thomasin McKenzie’s eyes MATCHED her gown.
This is so great. I love it.
The top ruffle would have driven me nuts. IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE UP OR DOWN?

I love Portia’s hair.

Sofia Carson has potentially reached the maximum allotment of tule allowed to be worn in 2020. Already.
Blech.

I was so happy that Olivia Colman won! I love her. And her sleeve game is solid. (Love the train, too.)

Well done.
Zuri Hall killed it.
Head to toe.

Also lovely, Marin Hinkle. This is so pretty.

Sorry, I didn’t love Rachel Brosnahan‘s gown. It did nothing for her. I just think she deserved more.

THIS is so cool, though. Jeannie Mai’s top is awesome. But the t-shirt thing + tight white pants? Killing me. Top, a 10. Bottom, a 1.

Let’s go ahead and talk about The Unfortunates, shall we?
Kristin Cavallari‘s uptop is crooked.
This drives me bananas.
I cannot begin to explain to you how much I cannot stand this outfit. It seriously reminds me of something that Destiny’s Child would have worn. Or, passed on.
THREE CHOKERS?!?! (I just fainted.)

I have no idea who made this dress, but it is not doing Lainey Lui justice.
The elastic waist? Awful.
But that collection of black material in the middle? GASP?
Never gather dark fabri and bunch it and drape it where your reproductive organs are.

Molly Simms looks like the wedding cake. There’s always one in every crowd.
This is so, so bad.

My worst dressed.
It was a strike-out. (Pun intended.)
J-LO. WE EXPECT MORE FROM YOU.
This Valentino Haute Couture is horrific.
A GIANT bow on another bow?
Fine. I googled it. It looked great on the runway, it was starched or something. Here it’s just a *mess*. It’s a deflated bow(s).
ALL OF THIS IS SO SAD.
Easily, my worst dressed.

There were so many that I loved!
First off, Joey King’s gown is art.
Holy Wow. It’s Iris van Herpen Haute Couture and I just think it’s amazing.

Next, Isla Fisher’s gown… THE COLOR! GASP! I adore it, I adore it, I adore it.
I love the sleeves, I love the bodice… I’m in love with this. GORGEOUS!

Also great color and great sleeves? Jodie Comer.
Perfection. Elegant. And the styling (that clutch!) is just lovely. I love it!

Michelle Williams looked strikingly lovely in this clever clementine gown. But her speech, did you hear it? So eloquent. More women like Michelle, please.
There’s something so old-Hollywood about this and I adore it.

How did you feel about Gwyneth Paltrow’s Fendi gown?
Truth? I kind of loved it.
I really liked the necklace in the gown.
So cool.
Oh, Gwyneth.

Phoebe Waller Bridge’s suit is so fantastic. LOVE.
It’s Ralph & Russo Couture and it’s GREAT.
The fit, the hair, the styling… all good. Perfection.

I know, I have another love. It’s Sienna Miller wearing such a refreshing (literally) color combo. I love this. Her hair, the gown. Perfect.

And my best dressed? Without a doubt, Cate Blanchett in Mary Katrantzou.
Ya’ll, this is just everything.
It’s whimsical, it’s elegant, it’s bold it’s the happiest banana pudding gown I’ve ever seen.
Cate’s hair looks amazing, the styling is great. I’m in lurve.

What did you think? Who did you love?
