Prior to the Great Pandemic of 2021 one of my favorite things to do was to sit back with some prosecco and my laptop and scrutinize stylists’ red carpet fashion choices for their clients.
Then, it all stopped. No more red carpets. Perhaps a bit too much prosecco…
After a long year of loss and difficulty, I’ll be honest. I just don’t have it in me to critique. If anything, I am *thrilled* for anyone who got to get dressed up today, stay at home and win something today!
Right?
It was so nice to see Amy and Tina. And, I loved Regina King’s dress. And her dog. I am so glad that Catherine O’Hara and Schitt’s Creek won. (And Ted Lasso, too.) Amanda Seyfried’s styling was amazing. And, I kind of loved watching people in their homes… with their families and friends. And, I love the activism and politics that seemed to show up during the Globes. I’m here for it.
Friends, we’re inching toward some semblance of normalcy. And weirdly? I’m happy to see a red carpet again.
P.S. I’m glad that Tina and Amy mentioned how the Hollywood Foreign Press doesn’t have one black person on their voting committee. That needs to change. Representation matters. Let’s do this.
P.S. I cannot wait until zoom-ing isn’t our norm, CAN I GET AN AMEN?
